The deadline to apply for one of at least three $5,000 educational scholarships from the Danish National Committee of Southern California is May 10, 2024.

The scholarships will be awarded June 2 at the GrundlovsFest picnic at the Danish Church and Cultural Center in Yorba Linda, California.

Applicants must live in the greater Southern California area, be no more than 25 years old on June 2, and be a graduating high school senior or an enrolled student at an accredited institution of higher learning, such as a trade school, college or university.

"It is important that we get the word out to the whole Danish community so everyone who qualifies has a chance to apply,'' said Lone H. Sorensen, the committee's scholarship chair.
