The background of The Bridge cover shows an old stone bridge, which still stands in southern Denmark.
It is appropriate that we use the title The Bridge for our journal, since one might characterize the mission of the DAHS as building bridges:
-Bridges back to to the Denmark our Danish ancestors left behind.
-Bridges over to the Denmark of today.
-Bridges between today’s Danish Americans and the America of their ancestors.
The Bridge is edited by DAHS board members.
Starting with Vol. 22 in 1999, The Bridge has been published by Anundsen Publishing Company in Decorah, Iowa

Issue #1 of the Newsletter of the Danish American Heritage Society appeared in July 1977. In December 2012 with issue #67 the Newsletter was discontinued, due to increasing reliance of our constituency on the World Wide Web. A Bulletin is sent twice yearly to members following each DAHS Board meeting to keep the membership informed of current topics under consideration. Bulletins can be found under the "What We Do" tab.
The following served as Newsletter editors from 1993 until its final issue.
John Mark Nielsen, 1993 - 2002
Linda M. Chimenti, 2002 - 2007
