What We Do
For much of its existence the Danish American Heritage Society (DAHS) has provided three major services to its constituency:
  • Since 1978 the DAHS has published a historical journal, The Bridge, which contains scholarly and popular articles, essays, translations, stories and book reviews.
  • The DAHS has sponsored Conferences having themes that support the goals of the organization.  The fifth DAHS conference is scheduled for October 2017.
  • The DAHS provides stipends via Bodtker Grants for students interested in studying and researching topics related to Danish immigration to North America and Danish American culture.  The Bodtker Grants area of our site includes a list of previous recipients.

As a means of communicating with our members who lack internet access, in 2015, we began mailing out the DAHS Bulletin as a compliment to our website.
